Opinion of the product:  ‘Lola fragrance was introduced by Marc Jacobs in 2009. Perfumer Ms Calice Becker (with Yann Vasiner) composed this scent. God bless her for that! She has many more good scents compositions in her CV, mentioning only my favorites: Donna Karan DKNY Energy for her and him (2002), my beloved Christian Dior J’Adore (1999),Tommy Hillfiger-Tommy Girl (1996) and Tommy Girl 10 (2006), Calvin Klein Secret Obsession (2008), Avon Far Away Gold (2014). Ms Becker worked with Mr Vasier on Oh Lola (2011).

Coming back to Lola- I love Lola’s bottle-it’s is sexy and fun with a romantic rose on the top. Colours are pink and purple. Joyful and girlie. We all know how bottle design is important for women when we buy perfumes. Design of Lola by Marc Jacobs is great, but not so functional-it takes a lot of space on the shelf, the rose is big and bottle is wide-but who cares? That’s Lola!

So how is Lola? A bit crazy, but sexy. It will fit a dynamic individual, who wants perfume to last long and be surprised how it develops. It starts with fruits, but it does not tell you “I am the fresh scent”. You already know it will develop into something more substantial, more sexy, more feminine. After a while scent of rose, peony and geranium appear.

But remember, you need to like rose, vanilla and musk to choose Lola, as those are the strongest and dominate scents in that fragrance. Musk and vanilla as end notes will be a warm end of the day. This perfume last very long on your scarf or jumpers, so if you want to mark “your territory” this is a good choice:).

Lola is also perfect for a night out (rather in cold seasons) or a day in winter, when its cold outside, otherwise it might be slightly heavy. I would not recommend it when you take a public transportation in the morning-it is strong-not everybody likes that.

I remember traveling for an hour next to a gentleman smelling of Angel for Men-called Alien-strange name BTW- by Thierry Mugler- what an unforgettable experience-I felt like returning my breakfast and wanted immediately some air to breath. Woody, amber, floral perfume at 7am-Help! Although Alien is a mega masculine scent, you need to know when to use it. It is an evening perfume.

Heavy, oriental perfumes are good when we are not in the closed rooms immediately after applying them on us, as they need some time to develop and “stop killing” with the initial notes.

Besides, all Marc Jacobs perfumes I know last a whole day. The compositions are highly individual as a tailored dress and not so popular, which is another plus.

2009 is far behind us but I keep my 100 ml EDP of Lola on my perfume shelf with favourite classics. It deserves its place there. You can get it here:Marc Jacobs Lola Eau De Parfum Spray for Women 100ml
